Leigh is a Social Worker, and independent Consultant in Thanatology through her consultancy, Collaboraide, previously holding the position of Bereavement Coordinator, Children’s Health Queensland (2010- 2021).  Leigh has been a long-term advocate for a health systems response to the care of bereaved families following the death of a child in Australia. To further this cause Leigh completed her PhD Compass - exploring the experience and needs of parents whose child has died from cancer (2016) and a Churchill Fellowship - Identifying international best practice bereavement care in paediatric hospitals (2018).  However, Leigh believes the very best care for bereaved families comes from family, friends and the community they know, love and trust. Leigh values the integration of a life well lived while pursuing her vocation. She loves immersing herself in water, the bush and holds an active spiritual practice.
